Blackpink’s Ji-soo and actor Seo In-guk, stars of the Netflix series Boyfriend on Demand, brought fans deeper into the show’s universe at a special fan event.
Released on March 6, Boyfriend on Demand is a romantic comedy that follows Mi-rae (Jisoo), a webtoon producer exhausted by the pressures of everyday life, who turns to a virtual dating simulation service that lets users “subscribe” to and experience romance. Just two days after its premiere, the series climbed to No. 1 on Netflix’s “Top 10 Series in South Korea Today,” quickly drawing strong viewer interest.
To celebrate the show’s growing popularity, Ji-soo, who plays Mi-rae, and Seo In-guk, who portrays Gyeong-nam, met fans in Seongsu-dong, sharing the excitement with viewers who have embraced the series.
The fan event was livestreamed both in Korea and overseas, drawing attention from fans around the world.
The program featured a variety of interactive segments that allowed the actors and fans to connect more closely, starting with a bright pink-carpet appearance by Ji-soo and Seo In-guk. Activities included aBoyfriend on Demand-themed balance game and a “monthly date recommendation” corner inspired by the series.
Both actors fully immersed themselves in their characters, delighting the audience throughout the event.
Ji-soo even performed a playful “unboxing” of the fictional Boyfriend on Demand device featured in the show, sharing her imagined user experience, while Seo In-guk spoke about the evolving relationship between Mi-rae and Gyeong-nam—drawing fans deeper into what many called “full immersion mode” in the Monthly Boyfriend universe.
After spending a warm and lively time with fans, Ji-soo shared her thoughts on the event. “I had so much fun being here with everyone today, and it was especially enjoyable getting to introduce the device from the show,” she said. “I hope you all had a great time as well.”
Seo In-guk also expressed his appreciation, saying, “It’s the first time I’ve had the chance to meet so many people together for a project like this. The show has only just been released, but seeing all of you already so immersed in the program makes me proud and truly happy.”
The venue also featured photo zones and experience booths designed to bring the world of Boyfriend on Demand, to life, offering visitors memorable moments.
A particularly popular installation allowed fans to listen to the flirtatious lines exchanged by couples in the series. Jisoo and Seo In-guk also posed together at a photo zone designed around a “virtual date” concept, showcasing their sweet on-screen chemistry.
Meanwhile, the romantic comedy Boyfriend on Demand, starring Jisoo and Seo In-guk, is currently streaming on Netflix.
