HYBE and Geffen Records’ global girl group KATSEYE drew a massive singalong crowd of 100,000 in Brazil.
KATSEYE took the stage on March 22 (local time) at Autódromo de Interlagos for Lollapalooza Brazil, performing before an estimated crowd of around 100,000, according to organizers. The group’s set also generated explosive online interest. HYBE and Geffen Records reported that KATSEYE’s performance attracted 56,299 concurrent viewers on YouTube Live and around 230,000 views on Weverse Live.
As soon as the opening track “Debut” began, a thunderous singalong erupted, with the audience singing the lyrics word for word. During performances of “Gabriela” and “Gnarly,” which featured dynamic dance breaks, fans across the venue were seen mirroring the choreography. KATSEYE delivered a total of 13 songs over the course of about an hour, commanding the stage with high-energy performances.
The members actively engaged with the audience, making eye contact and feeding off the crowd’s energy throughout the set. Lara shared, “Hearing so many people sing along to our songs like this gives me chills. This is a performance we’ll never forget.” Daniela, a Latina member, connected with local fans in Portuguese, expressing her gratitude: “Please never forget how much we love you.”
Industry observers say KATSEYE’s appearance at Lollapalooza South America has significantly expanded the group’s reach. Streaming numbers for the group’s songs across Latin America have recently risen by about 8 percent, with particularly strong growth in Argentina (up 36 percent) and Chile (up 33 percent), indicating that the momentum from their live performance is translating into music consumption.
KATSEYE was formed through “The Debut: Dream Academy,” an audition project built on the K-pop training and development system.
