BTS continues to demonstrate their unwavering dominance on the global music scene, maintaining a powerful presence on the Billboard charts five weeks after their latest release.
According to a chart preview published on Billboard’s official website on April 26, the group’s fifth studio album, ARIRANG, secured the number four spot on the Billboard 200 for the week dated May 2. This steady performance highlights the group‘s staying power in a highly competitive market.
Billboard reported that ARIRANG earned 62,000 equivalent album units during this tracking period. This impressive total is calculated by combining traditional physical and digital album sales with Streaming Equivalent Albums (SEA) and Track Equivalent Albums (TEA), which convert individual song streams and downloads into representative album units. By defending its position within the top five well over a month after its debut, the album has proven its widespread mainstream appeal and longevity among a broad demographic of listeners.
In addition to their recording success, BTS is currently making waves on the road after kicking off the North American leg of the “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’” on April 25 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
The massive touring cycle is set to be a monumental undertaking, encompassing 31 performances across 12 major cities, including stops in Mexico City, Las Vegas, and Chicago. Industry insiders expect the momentum from these live stadium shows to further fuel the album’s long-term success on the charts.
