BTS member V has drawn praise for his calm and considerate response after a fellow soldier from his military service excessively shared personal anecdotes about him.
Recently, a social media creator who trained alongside V at the Nonsan Army Training Center, uploaded a series of videos recounting their time together. In these clips, he shared detailed stories from their military life — including attending church together and games they frequently played — raising concerns among viewers about whether V had consented to such personal disclosures.
As the issue gained traction, the creator addressed the controversy on Tuesday, saying, “It became a big issue after Taehyung hyung came to my video and left a comment. While many people said kind things, there were also quite a few who expressed concern. I will stop uploading after this video.”
V himself then directly responded in the comments, writing, “Go ahead, and share it more widely — it’s fun.” which quickly became a hot topic online.
However, the creator replied, “Understood, Taehyung hyung(brother). Then I will continue comfortably,” suggesting he would keep posting, which further drew attention.
As the controversy persisted, V stepped in again on Wednesday, with a longer message to clarify his stance. “How have you been? While many people appreciate the effort you put into your videos, it seems there are also some who feel concerned,” he wrote. “I personally found it really enjoyable. In life, even things done with good intentions can be interpreted differently depending on perspective. I hope you don’t worry too much about every reaction.”
His response showcased his maturity and consideration, but he also gently pointed out the source of misunderstanding. “But since you uploaded many short clips, it may have looked a bit odd. I think people could understandably misunderstand,” he added, acknowledging fans’ concerns.
V continued, “No matter what anyone says, you were the ace of our military unit, and I truly enjoyed the time we spent together during service. Those who didn’t experience it firsthand might find it hard to fully understand what we felt,” demonstrating his effort to consider multiple perspectives.
He concluded on a warm, lighthearted note: “I was worried you might be stressing over these reactions while doing bench presses, so I left this comment even though I’m a bit lazy — hope it helps. I’m always rooting for you. I don’t remember your dream, but since you’re in great shape, I guess you’ll be a great bodybuilder. I will root for you!”
Meanwhile, V enlisted at the Nonsan Army Training Center in December 2023, and served in the Army’s 2nd Corps Military Police Special Task Unit before being discharged in June 2025.
