“Unloveu,” a self-composed track by member Lara and a bonus track on the limited edition of global girl group KATSEYE’s third EP WILD, has been officially released on digital streaming platforms.
“Unloveu” captures the moment of realization when one finally lets go of someone who once held them back. The song delicately charts the process of moving past heartbreak, as emotions that once felt inescapable gradually fade away. Standing in contrast to the intense, energetic tracks on WILD, “Unloveu” highlights intimate emotions and mature vocals, proving KATSEYE‘s wide musical versatility.
The repetition of the word “Unloveu” throughout the song is particularly striking. Reiterated like a chant, the lyric resonates as a calm monologue of someone healing from and overcoming past wounds. The restrained vocals and rich harmonies of the KATSEYE members lend even greater depth to these emotions.
Lara brought the track to life alongside world-renowned songwriters. She co-wrote and co-composed the song with producer Ross Golan—known for his work with Maroon 5 and Justin Bieber—and Grammy-winning songwriter Amy Allen, who has contributed to hit songs by Sabrina Carpenter.
KATSEYE is a global group launched by HYBE and Geffen Records under Chairman Bang Si-hyuk’s “Multi-home, multi-genre” strategy. Applying K-pop methodologies to an international market, the group debuted in the United States in 2024 and continues to enjoy active promotions.
